I've had thai food twice/seen the sun once. The weather has been on a downward curve of gloom and doom, but no snow scenes. That's about it. No, it's been really nice to be back and I ate nearly 10 times my weight in food so far. I've also been sleeping until noon. Nabakov had an apt phrase in the book I'm currently reading--gloutonnerie impardonnable. Yes, we're all smarter when I read Nabakov.

Christmas I think is now officially finished. What a bounty we have to take back to New Mexico. I can't believe the amount of money that has been spent, and I don't mean by me because I didn't spend any for Christmas. Really amazing generosity. Some gatherings were funner than others, but each had its charms.

Let's see what else... not much to report because I've been hanging out with most of the people that read this blog. Last night's bed time dialogue (we have cable in bed during our stay here! Everywhere. Not just one house.)--

"Turn it to fucking Saddam. I want to see the execution of a crazy ass world dictator!" quips Molly.

"but Goldfinger!" shrugged Joe.

I don't have much to report. What I really wanted to do, what I know you all love, is social awareness!

This is the main reason that I'm a vegetarian. I realize that I could achieve basically the same minimal benefit if I simply halved or cut by a third my meat consumption. At this point, it's become a lifestyle choice that I don't really think about. Meat is not something I'm interested in so I don't really look for it. However, for the rest of you, please read the link and consider if it would be easy to not eat meat, intentionally, at least two days a week.
